Nearly two weeks after her alleged overdose, pop sensation Demi Lovato has been released from the hospital and is heading to a rehab facility outside of California.
Lovato has been struggling with addiction since her days on Disney Channel. Though being a vocal advocate for sobriety and de-stigmatizing mental health, Lovato announced she had relapsed just before her alleged overdose.
Reaching out for the first time since the highly-publicized incident, Lovato took to Instagram to share a message with her concerned fans. “This illness is not something that disappears or fades with time,” she explained. “It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet. I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond.”
According to reports from TMZ, Lovato will remain at the out-of-state rehab facility for an "extended" period of time.
