According to research, 10-20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage. Despite its frequency, the subject is still considered taboo to discuss in public. However, several celebrities have opened up about their experiences having one or multiple miscarriages.
Megan Fox is releasing a book of poetry titled 'Pretty Boys Are Poisonous,' in which she explores her history of abusive relationships. However, another topic that comes up in her work is pregnancy loss. In an interview ahead of the book's release, she opened up about her experience on 'Good Morning America.' Fox, who has three children with ex Brian Austin Green, said “I’ve never been through anything like that before in my life." The devastating loss left her and her relationship with Machine Gun Kelly in turmoil. “It sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, and together and apart, and together and apart, and together and apart. Trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean?’ and ‘Why did this happen?’” Over the past year, there have been rumors circulating around the couple who went from intense public proclamations of their love to an apparent separation, and later quietly reconnected out of the spotlight.
In the book, Fox references a scan she had at 10 weeks and one day. “I want to hold your hand / hear your laugh,” she writes in one poem, later adding, “But now / I have to say / goodbye.”
In this gallery, we look at stars who broke the silence and talked publicly about their experience with miscarriage and infant loss. Find out what they had to say.
