The Met Gala came and went, but some of the event's iconic outfits deserve a second look. One dress in particular, worn by fashionista Alexa Chung, was particularly impressive. For the first time in her career, Chung wore a dress created under her self-named label. “It’s huge for me because I first attended the Met Ball as a guest of a designer in 2010”, Chung told Vogue. “To fast-forward to this moment when I’m wearing a dress of my own design, from the company that I started, is thrilling”.

The stunning white dress worked perfectly with the “Heavenly Bodies” theme. Chung hand-stitched the dress, which features a Japanese lace trim and decadent details. She said she was inspired by Anne Boleyn and monarch portraits at The National Gallery in London. Talking to Vogue, Chung also referenced “a little bit of Claire Danes in Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Romeo + Juliet’”. You can check out Alexa Chung’s Instagram for a more detailed breakdown of her dress.
