Stephanie Phair is the new chair of the British Fashion Council, and will hold the position for the next three years. Phair is best known as the chief strategist for Farfetch, an online retail platform based in London, and has also worked at Portero and The Outnet. Phair will work with Caroline Rush, the BFC’s CEO, delivering a strategic plan that delivers on five points. Those are Reputation, Investment, Business, Digital & Innovation and Education, as reported by Vogue. Phair will also boost British fashion worldwide, working with sponsors and business partners.

“I am honoured and delighted to take on the role of chairman”, Phair said, in a statement obtained by Vogue. “My role will be to build on this and help drive continued innovation and new thinking in this fast paced, changing industry”, she added. Caroline Rush offered her own statement, Vogue reports. “We all look forward to working with her on strengthening the opportunities for British fashion talent and businesses over the next few years”, Rush said.
