8-year-old girl attacks armed robbers
Not all heroines wear capes
A young girl in the Philippines has been hailed as a hero for attacking armed robbers in order to help protect her family. She sustained several injuries due to her brave struggle.
Brielle, an eight-year-old girl, lives in Cavite in the Philippines. She was playing outside when four men came to her house, ostensibly to sell DVDs. However, the group had ulterior motives and attacked Brielle’s family. Three of the men aimed their weapons at the unsuspecting family, while the fourth man ransacked their home for valuables.
When Brielle realized what was going on, she decided to take action. As the men began to run for it, she snatched one of their bags, which was filled with the possessions of her family. She then jumped on top of the bag to protect it. One of the criminals managed to forcibly retrieve the bag, but Brielle wasn’t dissuaded. She got back up to stop the criminals but received a painful kick. Her nose was broken and she was wounded, requiring two days in hospital.
Brielle vowed to ‘get them next time’. She said her family worked hard for their money and that she wanted to help them.
“I’m so angry they stole my daddy’s money. If I ever see them again they’ll be sorry. The money belonged to my family. I wanted to help them. They worked hard for it,” Brielle told The Daily Mail.
