The adorable reason you should smile at goats more often
They like it!
A heartwarming study by the Royal Society has found that goats can tell the difference between a happy and an angry human.
In fact, the research shows that the adorable animals even have a preference, refusing to interact with upset people. Instead, the fluffy four-legged creatures are drawn to positive and smiling faces.
The experiment involved 20 goats taken from the Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats in the UK. The mammals were then released into a pen that had been decorated with photographs of people with different expressions plastered across their faces. It did not take long for scientists to realize that the smart little animals are sensitive to human facial expressions, and were more attracted to the happy people and photographs.
How sweet! Make sure you're smiling on your next trip to the farm!
