Nia Vardalos as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley? The actress has made her pitch to ‘SNL.’

“I just need a day's notice to get to New York @nbcsnl,” tweeted Vardalos, along with an image of herself side by side with Haley for comparison.

The resemblance really is uncanny.

Over 10 hours after her first tweet she doubledowned on her intentions.

Others said Vardalos is too good to play Haley.

I feel channeling her in an SNL sketch is akin to channeling a spirit using a Ouija board. You'll end up possessed or release a demon.

One Twitter user even seemed to confuse Haley for conservative commentator Dana Loesch, and attacked Vardalos for attempting to imitate her.

So, will Vardalos get the gig? Maybe ‘Saturday Night Live’ creator and fellow Canadian Lorne Michaels can help her out.

Vardalos wrote and starred in ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ and its sequel. She also developed, co-executive produced, and starred in the spin-off TV show, ‘My Big Fat Greek Life.’
