Channel 4 is working fast to make a documentary about Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia. ITN Productions is helming the show, which is set to air on March 26. Skripal is a former Russian spy who worked as a double agent for MI5. He was imprisoned in Russia but released as part of a spy-swap program. Skripal settled in the UK and was visited by his daughter, who lived in Moscow. The two were found on a park bench in Salisbury after being poisoned by a rare nerve agent that is believed to have come from Russia.
Fallout from the incident has raised tensions between the UK, Russia, and the US. Theresa May ordered the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats, who have one week to leave the country. Donald Trump fired secretary of state Rex Tillerson, who formally condemned Russia for the attack. Thrilling stuff. Stay tuned for more updates on the Channel 4 documentary.
