Personal life - Leonardo DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles on 11 November, 1974. He is the son of George DiCaprio, of Italian and German descent, and Irmelin, a German citizen who emigrated to the United States in the 1950s. DiCaprio's parents split up when he was only one year old.

Career - Leonardo DiCaprio was encouraged to explore his talent from the age of five. He appeared in commercials and educational videos as a child.
