As the royal wedding date approaches, details about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's special day are being released to the public like a trail of breadcrumbs. The most recent announcement from the Kensington Palace Twitter account is slightly less traditional—but wholly delicious. The cake that is set to be served at the royal wedding will be lemon and elderflower flavored.
The tweet read, "Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring. It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers."

Claire Ptak, the owner of the London-based establishment Violet Bakery, was tasked to head the design. "I can't tell you how delighted I am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle's wedding cake," said Ptak in a statement for a Kensington Royal press release. "Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and most importantly flavour, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of."
This flowery cake will be the perfect springtime accent to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding on May 19.
