CELEBRITY John cusack

Last week, news of a Disney-produced TV series based on the iconic John Cusack film, 'High Fidelity,' is in production. While fans of the 2000's romantic drama were immediately skeptical, Cusack himself took to Twitter to share his concerns.

'High Fidelity' was based on Nick Hornby’s acclaimed 1995 novel of the same name. The Disney reboot is said to have a more "upbeat" approach, and will supposedly focus more on the female perspective.

In a string of tweets, Cusack said, "The woman part seems good / the rest not so much - but it’s nicks book hope at least he’s involved- if he’s not - it’ll suck."

Cusack's character in the film, Rob Gordon, is a lovesick record shop owner in Chicago, whose misery and music taste go hand in hand. The iconic actor tweeted that trying to create an aura of pain similar to Gordon's may be out of reach. He said, "Of course - they want to brand their thing with our thing- they’ll f*** it up ;)" He continued to question the reboot by saying, "Up beat ? sound like they may miss the majic mix - :) what came first the music or the misery ?"

Disney's 'High Fidelity' reboot will be a part of the entertainment company's new streaming service.
