Meet Alexi Lubomirski, the official photographer for the royal wedding
The announcement was made on Twitter
Kensington Palace has announced the official photographer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming wedding. The royal announcement was made on Twitter. “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have selected Alexi Lubomirski to take the official photographs at Windsor Castle”, the statement reads. In a follow-up tweet, the Palace wrote “Alexi is a well-known portrait photographer” who “photographed Prince Harry and Ms. Markle last year at Frogmore House, Windsor, to mark the news of their engagement”.
Lubomirski is revered name in modern portrait photography. Aside from his royal ties, he has worked with celebrities including Beyoncé, Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, and Scarlett Johanson. He has also shot for Vogue, GQ, and Harper's Bazaar. Like the royal couple, the photographer is international – he was born in England but now resides in New York with his family.
The choice is a hit with followers on Twitter. Jozaphen tweeted “we’re in for a treat judging from the engagement photos”. Tamer Yazar concurred, tweeting “a right decision... [Alexi Lubomirski] is the best choice for aesthetic, passionate and artistic photographs”. Alicia Leming Ivey also liked the choice, but got a little mixed up. “She is a very talented photographer”, Ivey tweeted.
