Diane Keaton is in a movie about '50 Shades of Grey,' but she refuses to read the book or see the film adaptation. Her upcoming movie 'Book Club' details what happens when four friends (Keaton, Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda and Mary Steenburgen) read the erotic novel and find themselves seeking out spicy sexual encounters of their own.

As a guest on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' Keaton was asked if she was a fan of the E.L. James book when, to the crowds surprise, she announced she had not read it or seen the movie.

“I’m afraid to do it because honestly, it’s too, it gets too … I don’t want to go there; it’s too exciting,” Keaton told Ellen. “It’s too much for me, its too exciting, c’mon,” she added. Similar to her response on 'Ellen,' Keaton's character in the film is sweet, prudish, and wary of the risqué novel.

'Book Club' comes to theaters on May 18, and you can watch the official trailer for the film here.
