After violence in the Gaza strip between the Israeli army and Palestinian protesters left thousands of Palestinian people wounded and killed, model Gigi Hadid took to Twitter to share her views and spread awareness.
Initially, Hadid shared two screenshots about the conflict, one from an Al Jazeera news story and the other an Instagram photo that depicts the year the Israeli-Palestinian warfare began.

Hadid then followed up by writing, "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. For me, this is not about religion or one against the other - it’s about the greed. #FreePalestine #freegaza #coexist"

After receiving backlash over her choice of words, Hadid then addressed her following by saying, "You’ll all see whatever side you want. My intent is never to further separate groups in hatred- I live my life loving everyone regardless of religion/race. So I will say again for the last time, I’m not anti-anyone. I am only pro- coexistence. That is all. #freepalestine"

Igniting a social media division and creating a space where her fans and internet harassers could clash over differing geopolitical opinions, Hadid then shared her frustrations with the Twitter commentators.
Further & finally-

I’m just gunna start keeping my opinions to myself.
social media is one of the most frustrating & twisted things. Don’t be surprised when your faves drop off,it’s a double-edged sword. Everything’s taken & read the wrong way bc tweets can never show real depth
Hadid then wrote to her following that she doesn't mean to attack either side, but rather denounce violence.
I didn’t call Jews greedy, but anyone who can’t look past their own ego will twist it that way.

I’m saying coexistence (Palestinians & Israelis, as they once before lived...) is to not live in greed. That’s all I’d hope for. ☮️ I don’t agree with the violence from either side. https://t.co/udxcZTz689
This is not the first time Hadid has taken to social media platforms to share her political views regarding Israel and Palestine. With familial and cultural roots in Palestine, Hadid, as well as her famed family members, have been vocal about the conflict.
