As family drama continues for the Markle clan, Prince Charles turns into Prince Charming to save the day. Kensington Palace has issued a statement confirming that Prince Charles will now walk Ms. Markle down the aisle.

In the never-ending family drama around Meghan Markle, royal protocols are being bent left-right-and-centre, much to the delight of onlookers and the media. 

Kensington Palace states: “Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.”

The confirmation, issued just one day before the wedding, comes in the nick of time after a period of uncertainty regarding who would walk her down the aisle, a role traditionally reserved for the father of the bride. 

Markle's father will not be attending the ceremony due to ill health, having recently suffered a heart attack. On Thursday, the former 'Suits' star shared: “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.  “I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”
