In light of his health condition, Meghan Markle's father will not be attending the royal wedding on May 19. Since traditionally the bride is walked down the aisle by her father, it was uncertain as to who would assist Markle on her special day. Speculators were considering her mother, perhaps a close friend, or even that she would walk alone.
Just one day before the event however, the Kensington Palace shared an announcement via Twitter, saying, "Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way."

Though Prince Charles will be walking Markle down the aisle, he will not be doing the ceremonial practice of giving her away. The royal wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will take place on May 19.
