Along with the heartfelt tweet, Burke attached an article where he went into detail about raising his daughter in a creative environment. Burke explained that though he was initially hesitant to read 'Harry Potter,' he has fallen in love with the series.
Just a few hours after the post was sent, Rowling responded:
.@mattburkephoto The gifts you’re giving your daughter are priceless and I’m truly honoured that Harry & co are playing a part. DM me your address for a set of signed Potters x https://t.co/EAcIKvwJwb— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 7, 2018
J.K Rowling is no stranger to the struggles that Burke is facing. In 2013, the author told the Daily Mail, about her experience as a single parent working with a low-income, "I was as poor as it's possible to be in this country," she said.
