'Love Island' may have ended, but the drama hasn't stopped. There is new speculation about how the show's editors shape public perception of the contestants.

First there was outrage over Dani Dyer's treatment on the show. The contestant was led to believe that Jack Fincher had left her for another woman, which provoked accusations of bullying as well as a staggering 650 complaints to Ofcom.

Then viewers called foul play over the way that Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster's relationship was portrayed on screen.

West End star Samira was unlucky in love from the start, but when Frankie joined the show it looked like she had finally found her man. So viewers thought it was pretty strange that the couple got so little screen time in comparison to other couples. When they spent the night in the hideaway, it wasn't even aired.

Fans took to Twitter to express their outrage.

Samira addressed it on the 'The Big Narstie Show', saying "that was so weird, when I came out I was like, what? It was really exciting, and they didn't show it". When pressed on why that might have been, she said "I honestly have no idea". Co-host Mo Gilligan suggested that it was because she was black, and asked her whether she thought the show needed more diversity.

The 22-year-old Londoner said she realised that she was the only black woman on the show, but didn't want to let that hold her back. She said she wanted to show people that anyone can be a reality TV star, and not be "scared they're gonna be typecast or anything".

Will 'Love Island' be more diverse next year? Regardless, the drama will definitely continue!
