Kerry Katona has polarised followers with photos of her shocking weight loss. On August 9, the former Atomic Kitten posted image of her tiny frame to Instagram, claiming that she had "Been hit by a severe sickness Virus!! Feel like skin and bones!!!!"

Comments included expressions of sympathy and concern, but the revealing snaps also led to people saying that her weight loss was enviable and to criticism from followers who saw it as an attention-seeking move.

The former pop star appears to have deleted many follower's comments and updated her own post to say, “I’ve taken pics so people can see how severe this bug is and that I have not intentionally lost this much weight purposely!”

She continued, “WOW... absolutely shocking some of the comments on here! Been severely sick since Tuesday, today is the first day I feel a tiny bit better!"
