Marilyn Monroe may have perfected the "skirt in the wind" look, but if Meghan Markle did that the press would have a field day! When all eyes are on you, staying poised and elegant is the most important royal rule. So how do the Duchesses keep their dresses in place?
Myka Meier, an etiquette expert explains that proper undergarments and layers are the keys to modesty. "Often they wear body suits and clothes that actually increase static so it’s much hard for something to fly up," she told The Sun. "So you have an undergarment that is almost like a body suit that is one tactic that is used."
Whether they are jetting off on the royal plane or encounter a gust of wind at a parade, the royal women must think of all possible wardrobe malfunctions in advance.
According to Meier, Queen Elizabeth actually takes her preparations further by adding weights to the bottom of her dresses, skirt suits, and coats, to ensure that the hems hang completely straight and always stay put.
With this fashion tricks, the British royals are always ready for their close-up.
