Looks like Ben Affleck isn't the hero Gotham City needs right now. Following the actor's highly-publicized return to rehab for alcohol addiction, it looks like Affleck may lose his coveted role in the latest 'Batman' franchise.
“More than likely the studio will replace him because the insurance costs are going to go through the roof,” a film industry bond expert told The Wrap. A film attorney also weighed in on Affleck's fate, saying, “He would be bondable, but the deductible would be really high, probably the budget of the film,” they said.
Affleck is currently undergoing treatment in Los Angeles for alcohol addiction. He was escorted to the facility by his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner. This is the actor's third rehab stunt, and second in the last year.
While Hollywood films are full of actors with turbulent pasts, they remain a business that has to weigh the pros and cons of working with a troubled star. Only time will tell if Affleck will grace the big screen as Batman again.
