Lana Del Rey has been making headlines lately due to a scheduled performance at Israel's Meteor Festival. Political conflicts surrounding the Middle Eastern country led fans and online commentators to call for her to cancel the appearance.
Now, the singer-songwriter has taken to Twitter to announce that she has dropped out of the festival lineup. "It's important for me to perform in both Palestine and Israel and treat all my fans equally," she wrote. "Unfortunately it hasn't been possible to lineup both visits with such short notice and therefore I am postponing my appearance at the Meteor Festival until a time where I can schedule visits for both my Israeli and Palestinian fans, as well as hopefully other countries in the region."
