Since her near-fatal overdose, Demi Lovato has been out of Los Angeles and working on her rehabilitation. Now, the star is officially putting the past behind her and selling her Hollywood Hills home where her overdose took place.
“Drug-related events in homes typically leave the owners with a bad taste and negative memories of the property,” Ashley Shahid, an associate with mortgage and real estate clients told Page Six. “In Demi’s case, this home also represented a lot of partying—it is The Hills, after all—and constant connection to drugs and users in the area. It is not a good idea for an addict to live in The Hills, much less Hollywood in general.”
Lovato initially purchased the mansion for $8.3 million in September 2016 and has now listed the property for $9.5 million. Complete with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, an infinity pool, soaking tub, and a gazebo, the house is 5,546-square-feet. Lovato's house also has a “huge sky lounge terrace” offering views of the Pacific Ocean and Sunset Strip.
Audiences and realtors alike are wondering if the house and Lovato's history in it will affect the sale, for positive or negative. Check out a visual tour of Lovato's house below:
