Famed soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo was accused of raping Kathryn Mayorga in 2009. Now, the Portuguese athlete has taken to social media to completely deny all of the allegations made against him.
Ronaldo wrote via Twitter, “Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in. Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense. My clear conscious will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations,” he said.

Mayorga recently filed a lawsuit against Ronaldo, claiming that he raped her in a hotel suite in Las Vegas in 2009. Mayorga also alleges that Ronaldo's team members attempted to bribe her for her silence with $375,000.
Ronaldo's response comes five days after Mayorga went public with the lawsuit.
