The latest royal preparing for a big wedding is Princess Eugenie, the cousin of Prince Harry and William. Though her name has been at the top of news headlines everywhere, apparently Eugenie has a very unique pronunciation!
According to Marie Claire, most people think the royal's name is pronounced any of these three ways:
Option A: "You-Jenny"
Option B: “You-Jay-Knee"
Option C: “You-Genie” (like "Genie in a Bottle")
However, it turns out none of these are actually correct! During a 2008 interview with The Telegraph, the Princess herself came forward with the correct pronunciation. Saying it is “You-Juh-Knee" with a stress on the "you."
She continued to explain that, "Whenever we used to meet foreign people who were struggling with it, my mum and I would help them by saying, 'It's like Use Your Knees.'"
Princess Eugenie is set to marry Jack Brooksbank on Friday, October 12, at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
