CELEBRITY Sandra bullock

Sandra Bullock has been through a lot recently, and she wasn't afraid to let everyone know at the 25th Elle  Women in Hollywood Celebration in Los Angeles.

'Miss Congeniality,' now 54, is mourning the death of her father, who passed in September, as well as the death of both of her dogs, Poppy and Ruby, who died soon after, News.com.au reports.

"It's been a crappy few weeks," she admitted at the beginning of her speech. Bullock talked about the added misery of the constant stream of tragedies tumbling through the news, and the difficulty of having a vagina these days, particularly in how it almost demands that you be a fighter.

With all of this dreaded weight on her shoulders, the actor just didn't feel like giving a standard speech when presenting an award to her 'Ocean’s Eight' co-star Sarah Paulson.

"I don’t feel nice. So I decided tonight I’m going to talk about all the things I don’t like about Sarah.” What proceeded was a grocery list of complaints, all equipped with soft underbellies of heartfelt compliments.

"I don’t like that she loves so deeply and so openly. And I don’t like that she is loved so deeply and so openly by extraordinary people because it only shines the light on how I just need to be better. I don’t like her work ethic. It reminds me that I need to work harder.”

Bullock later revealed Paulson's kind gestures of condolence when she had to have her dog put down, sending dozens of roses and poppies. Even in this truly "crappy" time in her life, Bullock still gives everyone the heartwarming performance they desire.
