Cardi B announces split from Offset
She's back on the market
Cardi B has had a big couple of years: getting married, having her first child, putting out hit after hit, and winning awards left, right, and center. The end of this year, however, also marks the end of her and rapper Offset's relationship.
In a video posted on Instagram late on December 4, Cardi explained that she has "been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now. And we're really good friends, and you know we're really good business partners. And, you know, he's always somebody that I run to, to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other, but...things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time. And it's nobody's fault."
She said that the two just grew out of love, but maintained that they will stay friends and partners, both in business and as parents, but that they are definitely not together anymore. "It might take time to get a divorce," she added.
In the comments on the post, Offset wrote, "y'all won." He then shared on his Instagram story that he'll be dropping a new song.
In an interview with the New York Times, Offset revealed that his upcoming solo album—a significant break from Migos—will center more on his interior life, but he also seemingly hinted at a collaborative project with Cardi. Hopefully all future updates on the rappers will be delivered in bars.
