At the premiere of Christian Bale's newest film 'Vice,' a biopic about Dick Cheney, one of the most uncompromising vice presidents to ever hit the White House, the actor opened up about his experience meeting an even more polarizing figure who would later become president: Donald Trump.
Bale told Variety about the strange encounter that occurred while filming 2008's 'The Dark Knight' in Chicago, detailed by Vulture. “We were filming on Batman in Trump Tower and he said, ‘Come on up to the office.’”
“I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne,” Bale joked, “because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.”
If you think about it, Bruce Wayne is exactly the kind of man that Trump would like: a wealthy American who owns an enormous enterprise.
Twitter is, naturally, having a lot of fun with this news, relating Bale's other roles, like his character in 'American Hustle' who sported a comb-over, to the now-President.

Bale has been clear about his feelings for Trump in the more recent past, criticizing him for policies focused on taking care of the elite, and suggesting that the world is "watching somebody read a Dictatorship for Dummies book."
The actor is known for his dramatic transformations for film roles, but unlike his role as Batman, he had to pack on the pounds for his role as Cheney. If he ever meets Trump again, he probably won't be treated as either Wayne or Cheney.
