CELEBRITY celebrity arrests
Such is the case with rapper ASAP Rocky, who has been arrested in Stockholm, Sweden, in connection with a street brawl on June 30. Much of the altercation was caught on film, including the lead-up which involved harassment from two “drug addicts,” which ultimately led to punches being thrown. Rocky and his team have argued that the incident was a matter of self-defense, and yet he’s being shown no mercy.
The video evidence, posted on Rocky’s Instagram, and the “inhumane conditions” in which the rapper is now being held have stirred up enormous confusion and anger about the situation. The video shows the alleged victim harassing and even physically attacking Rocky and his crew prior to the brawl, and it even shows someone else complaining that the same alleged victim had actually harassed others immediately before setting eyes on Rocky.
Celebrities, publications, and even the Tidal streaming service have united under the hashtags #JusticeForRocky and #FreeRocky, as more details surface about his charges.
Being arrested abroad has many complications, and some treaties between countries can apparently be disregarded without penalty. Check out the gallery to learn more about Rocky’s rights and their violations, and see which other stars have been arrested while abroad.
