Some of the following Hollywood celebs play the hero on screen, but their Good Samaritan skills have also been put to use in real life.

Actor Jerry O'Connell and his wife, Rebecca Romijn, were driving through Malibu with their 14-year-old twins when they came across a terrifying scene. A food truck had gone up in flames and sheriff's deputies were pulling a man out of the burning wreck. They were also trying to remove propane tanks from the truck before the situation became even more dangerous. O'Connell decided to get out of his car and help authorities bring the fire under control, according to TMZ. O'Connell and Romijn later shared more details of the scary incident in an interview with ET. He dragged one of the gas cans away from the burning vehicle and hopped over a fence to retrieve a fire extinguisher. He was then given a gardening tool to start stamping out the fire that had spread to the surrounding brush, which could easily have gotten out of control.

When asked about his decision to act, O'Connell said, "We live in fire country, it's warm this time of year, and you just do what you can to help neighbors out." During the interview, he joked with his wife, "I wasn't scared at all right?" He told the interviewer that he was actually deeply affected by the incident. "No, I was really scared. I actually, uh, I cried when I got back in the car." Luckily, thanks to the efforts of O'Connell and the sheriff's department, the fire was contained before it could spread.
