Naomi Campbell will receive the Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The world-renowned supermodel will join the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé in accepting the award. Speaking to Vogue, Campbell said “it is truly an honour to be recognised by the CFDA with this year’s Fashion Icon Award”.

The model also discussed her influences. As a Londoner, Campbell said her style has been “influenced by both the dynamic, ever-changing nature of street culture and the music scene”. She noted how she “grew up in this industry” and is grateful to “the iconic American fashion designers who have supported me and celebrated me throughout my career”.

The CFDA Awards will take place on June 4 at the Brooklyn Museum. Issa Rae will host the ceremony. Naomi Campbell recently graced the cover of GQ, posing with rumoured boyfriend, Skepta.
