Naomi Campbell recently touched down in Lagos, Nigeria for Arise Fashion Week. The event celebrates emerging and established fashion pioneers from both Nigeria and the rest of Africa. It was the country's first fashion week in six years, making this year’s event infinitely more special. Revered designers like Tiffany Amber and Ozwald Boateng were spotted on the catwalk, along with rising stars such as Laurence Airline.

Legendary model Naomi Campbell shared some behind-the-scenes information with Vogue. “I’m gonna wear [all those designers] now that I’m home; I felt so comfortable, so easy, so relaxed”, Campbell said, praising brands like Alara and I Am Isigo. “I feel like Africa, as a continent, is on the tip of explosion. It’s the next destination”, she opined. The supermodel also voiced her support of and involvement in future events. “It needs a broader platform”, Campbell said, “I am going to help them get it. It’s more than overdue. There needs to be an African Vogue. It’s time”.
