Burberry has released a new portfolio of images by Juergen Teller featuring supermodel Adwoa Aboah. It’s the third release in a campaign that sees Aboah pose in iconic cities around the world. First, she was photographed in her hometown, London. Then, the model headed to New York, where she currently lives.
For this collection, Aboah headed to her father’s family home in Ghana. She art-directed the shoot, working with friend and model Sonny Hall for the campaign. Modelling the finest Burberry pieces, the models were photographed around the home in Accra. Speaking to Vogue, Aboah said “I tried very hard not to be too emotional about this trip, but it’s so special for everyone to see where the story started”. She added that “be[ing] in Ghana means coming home”.
Adwoa’s Ghanian relatives, including her grandmother Gladys and great-auntie Mary Asare are also featured in the campaign. Head over to Vogue to take a look.
