Karl Lagerfeld is no stranger to ambitious fashion shows. Chanel’s creative director has previously put on shows in forests and hidden Parisian gardens. However, Lagerfeld’s most recent show took things to the next level. Taking over the Grand Palais in Paris, Karl brought in a giant cruise ship named La Pausa. The liner was named after Gabrielle Chanel’s summer house on the French Riviera. There were even huge strips of flailing fabric made to imitate the stormy sea.

Lagerfeld stuck with the nautical theme when it came to the clothes on show. Models were draped in sea-themed sweaters and striped trousers. The apparel seemed to reference 1980s style, with berets, vinyl jackets, and clashing colours. Supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid hit the catwalk in slick, navy-like outfits.
