FOOD Hangover cure
Hangover cures and other products targeted at drinking are very popular in South Korea. Stores sell vitamins, drinks, and cosmetics that all help you escape your headache and nausea the morning after heavy partying. What would you say if you could spoon yourself to health with hangover ice cream?
The Gyeondyo Bar is a fruity frozen treat that is said to cure even your worst hangover. According to NowThis, the secret ingredient is oriental raisin tree fruit juice, which has been used in Korean healing practices since the 1600s. Studies have shown that extracts from the tree fruit juice can help lower alcohol concentrations in the blood.
The raisin fruit tree tastes like raisins, cloves, cinnamon, and sugar. But with only .7% of actual extracts in the ice cream, the Gyeondyo Bar is soft, light, and is actually said to taste more like grapefruit.
The name Gyeondyo means "hang in there" in Korean. Seems appropriate.
