HEALTH Naked

Most parents have joined their child in the bathtub or walked naked around the house in the presence of their own children. Obviously, it's all good but on mumsnet.com a conversation kicked off about from what age it isn’t appropriate to be naked in the presence of your kids.

The discussion started when a mum asked if it was appropriate to take her clothes off in presence of her six-year-old son. The responses were wildly varied. Some parents said the moment they quit was when their children went to school, while others believe kids are never too old to see their parents naked.

Most parents think kids themselves will give a clear indication when they feel uncomfortable with you being naked around them. At some point, your children will lock the bathroom door when they take a shower and look the other way when you appear naked in the hallway. When that happens it is time to consider the preferences of your growing children.

Don’t worry too much about it, and bear in mind that there is nothing wrong with being naked. Especially in this era of photoshopped Instagram images, it can also be very healthy for the development of your children to see how a normal human body should look like.

As long as you are not weird about being naked, your kids will also be raised knowing that there is nothing wrong with being in their birthday suits too!
