Raise your hand if you have over 3,000 unopened e-mails in your inbox. From the repeated and unnecessary advertisements to all the LinkedIn updates you never asked for, it is easy to feel like you are digitally drowning. Gmail has an easy way to unsubscribe from unwanted e-mail with an array of decluttering features.
A few of the exciting e-mail additions are a "snooze" setting, where you can push non-urgent emails away until later in the day. A "nudging" feature, where you will be reminded to respond to important messages. And most importantly, an "unsubscribe" option, where you can quickly rid your inbox of unsolicited advertisements.
A 2015 study from Adobe Systems Inc., found that the average American worker spends 6.3 hours a day checking e-mail, including 3.2 hours for work and 3.1 hours for personal e-mails. Even if you try to avoid the unwanted inbox additions, the notification buildup is leading to more scrolling and more stress.
