LIFESTYLE Human trafficking
Human trafficking is a widespread issue both in the US and abroad. While many government agencies and organizations are working to stop these atrocities from taking place, ordinary civilians can help do their part as well. Since many human traffickers take victims to motels and hotels across the country, you can easily help trace frequented locations and save lives while on vacation.
The app titled Traffick Cam allows users to upload images of their hotel and motel rooms. This data helps professionals determine where traffickers are committing crimes. Because online sex traffickers often post images of victims in hotel rooms, Traffick Cam helps match these rooms. To do your part in the battle to end human trafficking, just upload four images of your empty hotel or motel room and the room number before you leave.
So far, Traffick Cam has acquired over 1.5 million photos from rooms around the world. The app is free and available for iPhone and Android users.
