MOVIES Hollywood memorabilia

Have you ever watched a movie that you loved so much that you wanted to hold it in your hands and keep it forever? Well, for some people that urge was very strong—thousands and thousands of dollars strong.

In the case of 'E.T. the Extraterrestrial' fans, bidding for the iconic model of the alien started at $500,000 and ended up selling for an eye-watering $2,560,000! The model, built by Italian special effects master Carlo Rambaldi, was part of the recent Julien's Auctions and TCM Presents: Icons and Idols Hollywood auction. Its description read: "Pre-dating modern CGI technology and effects, this one-of-a-kind cinematographic relic (constructed in 1981) features 85 points of movement and is regarded as an engineering masterpiece."

But that's not even close to the highest bidders' prices on other memorabilia! Check out this gallery to see what other pieces of your favorite movies were sold for the most obscene amounts of money, based on a list compiled by BroBible which includes the buyer's premium.

All amounts in USD.
