15. Maryland - Maryland has the second-highest rate of cyber crime, and 11.91% more total incidents per capita than the national average.

14. Illinois - This state has 12.36% more total incidents per capita, and even though it has less cyber crime than the national average, you'll want to go somewhere public for your first date.

13. Mississippi - At 14.46% more total incidents, Mississippi is so dangerous for the romantically inclined because it has the second-highest rate of STDs.

12. Oklahoma - Oklahoma has 14.70% more incidents of crime, fraud, and STDs than the national average.

11. Georgia - Georgia sits at 16.00% above the average total incidents, and it has the fourth-highest rate of STDs. Remember: things should only seem fishy if you visit the aquarium!

10. Missouri - Missouri comes in as the 10th-most dangerous state for online dating, with 17.12% more crimes and STDs reported than on average.

7. Alabama - The sweet home of Alabama doesn't have the best rates of crime, violence, and disease. It pushes past the national average by 21.54%.

Arkansas is among the five poorest states in the US and has little to no contraception education for residents, increasing its rate of total incidents per capita to 25.47% over national average.

4. Nevada - This state has more confidence fraud and personal data breaches per capita than any other, resulting in 29.83% more incidents than national average. Don't get hooked by a catfish!

3. Louisiana -

At a rate of 41.50% above national total incidents, Louisiana ranked third for most STDs per capita, and the high rate of violence doesn't help.

2. New Mexico - This state recently climbed a spot due to its increase in violent crime and STDs. It now has a rate of 44.43% more incidents than the national average, so maybe skip the hot air balloon on the first date.

Alaska - At a whopping 71.11% over the national average, Alaska is the most violent and STD-ridden state, fraught with the second-highest online romance fraud rates per capita. The sparsely populated state has a violent crime rate that is 103.40% over the national average. This is not the state to take a chance on love!
