Hogwarts fans were left disappointed after a performance of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ was hit with a power cut. The magical play centres around Harry Potter as an adult wizard. The performance at London’s Palace Theatre was plunged into darkness along with much of central London. As the incident continued for a few hours, the cast and crew were unable to resume. The show was eventually cancelled.
Audience member Eva Amsen took to Twitter to voice her concerns. “Seventy minutes later. Still a blackout and still no theatre lights. They have let us go out for now, so we’re at a pub across the street - just outside the blackout zone!”, she wrote. Liz Martin-Silverstone also aired out her grievances on Twitter, writing “Good times in the dark at #cursedchild while there’s a power cut in Soho... and the trains are all cancelled. London, you’re a mess”.
