James Corden’s dad has defended his son after a negative review of ‘Peter Rabbit.’ James Corden voices the title role in the film, which is a new adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s beloved children’s tale. However the film isn’t sitting well with everyone. BBC film critic Mark Kermode gave a scathing review, which you can listen to over on YouTube. Kermode called Corden’s performance “appallingly irritating.”
Malcolm Corden wrote a letter to Kermode, passionately defending both his son and ‘Peter Rabbit.’ The letter was read out by co-presenter Simon Mayo on-air, as reported by NME. “To hear you describe our son as ‘appallingly irritating’ was very difficult to listen to,” he wrote. “One sincerely hopes that you never have to hear someone else describe your children as such, especially live on air,” the dad declared. He also disagreed with Kermode’s scathing review of ‘The Greatest Showman,’ which Corden’s parents both thoroughly enjoyed.
