It’s been 15 years since Dizzee Rascal’s debut ‘Boy In Da Corner’. Still, Rascal (real name Dylan Mills) has had a successful run this decade. He’s scored four top 10 hits, including the poppy Robbie Williams collab ‘Goin’ Crazy’. Yet as grime gets bigger and bigger, Rascal has recently decided to step away from pop music and return to his roots. His last record, ‘Raskit’, lit up 2017 with aggressive beats and fast flows. Allmusic called the album a “re-evaluation and re-focus of his talents” in a glowing review.

Now, Dizzee Rascal has visited Paris Fashion Week for his latest video. The video for ‘Raskit’ single ‘Ghost’ is inspired by Naomi Campbell and was premiered by fashion magazine i-D. Speaking with the publication, Rascal and his team revealed how Campbell influenced the shoot. Director Laura Weaver explained that she wanted a “video in which women are the main characters”, not just dancers. Naomi Campbell’s appearance at a Versace show in 1995 inspired Weaver to feature “black, empowered women, both sexy and chic, but above all charismatic and confident. The kind of women everyone would want to follow all around Paris”.

Check out the music video for ‘Ghost’, as well as interviews with Rascal and the team, over at i-D.
