Little Mix have hit out at those who criticise their clothes. The girl group spoke on stage after picking up trophies at the inaugural Global Awards. “We are women, we will dress how we want to dress” said member Jade Thirlwall, as reported by BBC News. The singer went on to say “As a girl band, and as women, we do face a lot of scrutiny”. She detailed being hounded about everything from how they look, to how they dance, and even their lyrics. “Although one day we hope that does stop, right now we're really not arsed what people think”.
It was a victorious night for Little Mix. The girl group took home the Best Group, Best Artist, and Best Song awards. The latter was for their Stormzy collaboration ‘Power’. Little Mix rose to fame as the first girl group to win ‘The X Factor’, back in 2011. As BBC News reports, Thirlwall concluded by saying “the fact we've managed to last nearly seven years now and still be going strong is amazing”.
