Lights’ fans know she’s not only a talented singer, but a visual artist as well. Following her most recent Junos performance, the rest of Canada knows too, and now she’s giving us more.
During her Junos performance, Lights was literally backed by a bunch of famous Canadian female musicians. Well, to be more precise, she drew representations of these amazing women and they were projected behind her. Now she’s giving fans a look at the original drawings.
Alessia Cara, Shania Twain, Grimes, Jessie Reyez, Diana Krall, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Ria Mae, Régine Chassagne, Tanya Tagaq, Charlotte Cardin, Molly Rankin, and Ruth B all got the Lights treatment.
“Here are my drawings of twelve amazing Canadian female JUNO nominees that I used as the backdrop for my performance. Have to say, it was challenging and empowering to try and capture a goddess in a few lines,” Lights tweeted.

The art is very much in the style of her ‘Skin & Earth’ comic, which is also the name of Lights' Juno award-winning album.
