In a delightfully postmodern turn of events, Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore has been announced as the host of a literary event.
Legendary Haçienda DJ and acclaimed music writer Dave Haslam revisits his glory days in a new book titled 'Sonic Youth Slept on My Floor'. He documents encounters with Tony Wilson, Terry Hall, Viv Albertine, Tracey Thorn, Roisin Murphy, John Lydon, and Johnny Marr. The 1980s see Morrissey come over for cauliflower cheese and Sonic Youth sleep on his floor.
Thirty years later, former Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore will introduce and interview Haslam at Stoke Newington Literary Festival. The DJ and author was amused by the irony of his shift from fanzine creator and music journalist to interviewee. He shared on Twitter "Beautiful turn of events >>> @StokeyLitFest have arranged an event to mark the publication of my memoir 'Sonic Youth Slept On My Floor'. Interviewing me; THURSTON MOORE !!!"
