Our favorite artists seem larger than life, don't they? Indeed, great musicians may seem superhuman as they power through tours with dozens of concerts and days of traveling, but the stressful routine can take its toll. The likes of the Rolling Stones, Adele, and Rihanna are just some of the stars forced to cancel their shows due to illness.
In the case of Justin Bieber, the pop star is suspending the rest of his Justice World Tour, which started in March but was supposed to have 70 more shows running until March 2023. He shared a statement that touched on his previous announcement of his battle with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome, which left part of his face paralyzed, and was the reason he had to cancel the North American leg of his tour. He explained that he rested and consulted with his doctors before starting his European shows, but after six concerts "the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now," he said. "So I'm going to take a break from touring for the time being. I'm going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better.
A source told TMZ that, while his recent physical health scare is a big part of his decision to suspend the shows, an equally significant reason is the state of his mental health. Bieber has reportedly been struggling in the past few years, and now it's taking its toll.
