TRAVEL Doughnut
If you are a doughnut lover, this road trip may just be the vacation you've been craving. The 80-mile doughnut trail is located in Ohio, USA, and is daring you to eat your way through it. With more doughnut shops per capita than anywhere else in the US, you can pick a different flavor at each unique eatery.
Those who are officially doing the 80-mile doughnut trail get a passport to stamp at each sweet location. When you reach 11 out of 12 different locations on the trip, the Butler County Visitors Bureau will send you an official doughnut trail T-shirt that you can wear with pride.
"We didn't know we were tapping into something the world needed," Tracy Kosher, a spokesperson for the Butler County Visitors Bureau, told NowThis. "But its more than just doughnuts. It's a vehicle for connection. It's the stories we hear—who did the trail and who they did it with and why they did it—that makes the trail really rewarding."
This doughnut road trip takes dedication and planning. As the dish is usually reserved as a breakfast staple, some of the shops close as early as 10:00 am. Would you take on the 80-mile doughnut trail?
