The Netflix series 'One Day at a Time' was renewed for a third season after an online campaign got viewers reinterested in the series. The comedy sitcom follows the lives and stories of a middle-class Cuban family, and is based on the 1975–1984 series of the same name.
When rumors began to circulate that the show may be taken off the streaming platform after only two seasons, co-creator Gloria Calderón Kellett tweeted a call to action.
In February she wrote, "HUGE favor: If you want to support me & the show then PLEASE watch & tell friends & family to watch at least FOUR episodes in the next few days. Netflix decides what gets picked up based on views. I love this show & love writing this relatable family. PLEASE WATCH! Thank you."

Multiple news outlets wrote passionate opinion pieces about how the show tackles nuanced subjects such as race, gender, and mental health. In addition, The National Hispanic Media Coalition, a nonprofit advocacy organization, published a letter to Netflix explaining the importance of a show of this nature.
Audiences look forward to the return of 'One Day at a Time.' An official release date is yet to be announced.
