>didir="ltr">‘Hollyoaks’ star Adam Woodward has opened up about a sensitive plotline. The actor, who plays Brody Hudson on the show, took to Twitter to share a thankful message. “Massive thank you for all your lovely messages about this evenings scenes! It means an awful lot to see your reactions”, Woodward wrote. “Sexual abuse is such an important subject because it's still so difficult for people to talk about”, the actor added.

Adam was referring to an important episode that aired on April 16. After failing to get passionate with his lover, Scarlett, Brody began to open up about his traumatic past. Without going into graphic detail, Brody hinted that he was abused by football coach Buster as a child. The story coincides with Buster starting to groom newly introduced character, Ollie Morgan.

“By tackling this storyline @Hollyoaks is opening up the topic for discussion, hopefully making it easier for people to come forward”, Woodward wrote in a follow up tweet. “Big thanks to [Survivors Manchester] for opening their doors to me and helping me properly prepare to take on this storyline”, he concluded.
